During Milan's fashion week there were plenty of ankle boots to oogle over while sitting eye level near the runway. Trying to work that look into my budget seemed like a dream out of my reach until I hit the local Payless Shoe Source on 34th St. Much to my surprise I found the Sasha Ruffle Bootie by Fioni for only $34.99. They were pleasantly similar to the ones I have have been drooling over lately in the mags I flip through. They come in black and a rockin' purple. So hot with black or pattern tights! They are so chic and will be on my feet in the next couple of weeks.
Payless is also super for flats. With an assortment of colors and patterns, they are great transition shoes (walking to and from the subway) or around the office at the end of the day when you are totally over it.
The materials/fabrics are sturdy and heels usually hold up for a few seasons if taken care of. You will have to scotch guard these beauties if you are in the trenches of the subway system to keep up their luster and shine. A $4.00 purchase well worth it-available at any local shoe repair.

I logged on to Via Spiga today to actually see if the knee high studded toe boots Vena Cava designed for the retailer were available yet online and I had the funny experience of noticing that a shopping cart on the site that I must have filled months ago was still full.Amused, I clicked on it and these- the clog version that VC did for Spring '09- were in there. In my size. More than 50% off. To be exact: $139.00.So wunders, if you're still hankering to get in on the clog trend (if you wear as many pairs of skinny pants as I do I bet you're loving it) this is a great version to consider. I've loved these since I first laid eyes on them at the VC spring '09 presentation. They have a great small piece of elastic at the side that I believe aids a bit of movement (translation: comfort). The heel is present but subtle so I dare say you could have run around fashion week in these, or at least you have the option of slipping them on easily and being super cool when you're grabbing a coffee downstairs at the bodega.

Woodley and Bunny Apothecary is happy to present a new scent from creator Barbara Orbison.
Like the notes of a song, the notes of Pretty Woman Perfume open to reveal a delightful melody of florals, spices and woods. It is a complex blend of hundreds of individual floral and spicy notes. Its crisp, luminous bergamot top note evolves to reveal a full, vivacious middle note accord of stargazer lily, red rose and carnation. The fragrances base note accord of fresh amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas cedar and sacred incense combine with a lingering everlasting warmth and harmony.
It has been a life-long dream of mine to create a perfume that speaks to women everywhere, comments Barbara. I believe that within every woman there is a pretty woman and my signature fragrance helps bring that out that inner beauty, confidence and spirit so they feel strong, empowered, sensual and pretty.

Similar to those who try to re-introduce the "nautical" theme every Spring/Summer, we have others who try to throw in the LBD most every Fall/Winter. And this is one of those times.
If you ask me, you can never have too many black dresses. However, that doesn't mean that you should start snatching up every single black dress that you stumble upon. You don't want to become another New Yorker stereotypical statistic. If you wear black, you'd better find one that turns heads.
Mind you, it takes a ridiculous amount of searching to find just the right one that speaks of originality and taste--all the while fitting like a glove. The quest can be quite daunting even. Like finding a good pair of jeans, there is a variety of cuts and makers. You just have to go through a bit of trial and error to find one that clicks.
I like to have one for weekday, one for going out, one for weekend, one for special occasion. No, I take that back. I like to have multiples for every occasion. The ones that are top of mind for me right now are ones for special occasion. (I have a few weddings to hit up this Fall.) Punch 'em up with some pizzazzy-shoes and accessories to make them all your own.
Don't be in the dark this season, go for one of these:
