New York, NY
I always like to play a little game with myself on these fashion week eves (since it's a week, the eve seems to rightfully follow as a week long as well, no?) where I think about what I want to see more of, and then self-satisfyingly investigate which designer fulfilled my lust list most wholly. These moments usually lead to unique realizations such as, "Wow- be careful what you wish for..."
But in the interest of tradition (a requisite since we are in a recession and all) I'll shoot off my list du lust and hope in some small way, this will encourage you to sound off with your own or call me out for a total lack of taste. All in good fun, of course...
1. High waists and flared legs done classic. Work appropriate. A la Burberry Prorsum Spring '08 (pictured here...again.)...3. Classic knits- cashmere. I know that's a response to this winter, but with an angry environment outside, they are crucial.4. Preppy rock and roll. Nothing says recession like buttoned up during the day and raising hell at night...5. holes. bonafide sucker for dishevelment I am. 6. Handmade classics with lots of personality...researchers believe that "cottage industries" (i.e. homemade crafts) are going to have a moment as we shy away from vulgar, mass-produced pieces7. Elegance. Shoes get higher during economic duress. We should wear them well, since we all are trying to keep our jobs...
What are you looking for wunders? I love specifics...
