Linda Derector’s eponymous Nolita boutique is more than a little like her: a wildly colorful combination of art and commerce that lures you right in. The small shop is painted brilliant red, a sizzling backdrop for her jaw-dropping collection of never-worn designer vintage sunglasses and frames and their modern counterparts. Many an eyewear maven has been know to hyperventilate upon entering, and few have exited without acquiring their heart’s desire.
The store represents all the decades that are the inspiration for most of today’s hottest designer looks. Gucci, Christian Dior, Porsche, Persol, Jean Paul Gautier, Cartier, Dunhill, Alain Mikli, Silhouette, Anglo American, Christian Roth and Cazal, Alpina among many others, presented in color coordinated groupings on sleek glass shelves and pull out cases.
Linda’s own slightly outrageous style and her warm, wise-cracking demeanor add to the shop’s entertaining ambience.
