Vogue Steam Heat

Steven Meisel photographed a story called: "Universal Coverage", to tell a coat story. With coats come hats, at least in my world.....and Ellen Christine Millinery contributed a little navy wool cap to the layout. The setting is a glamorous forest, and indeed looks like a set, it's so magical. The coats are fantasmajorical combinations of texture and textile, with Sasha Pivovarova modeling in languid poses. Styled by Marie-Amelie Sauve, the story is a wealth of brocades, prints, knit...

My Fair Wedding : New Season

Sunday night, Ellen Christine Millinery shows up on David Tutera's My Fair Wedding at 10 p.m., We TV. That's the plug....here's the story:

Out of the blue, we got a call from a producer for the show. We had worked with David Tutera, when we did the headpieces for his runway show last season. so now, the question was, do we want to do a segment on My Fair Weddings?

As any good ham knows, we never turn down an opportunity to be out there, although I'm basically a behind th...

The "FAB" Hatter

I stopped in at Ellen Christine's shop the other day during my lunch break.  It was worth skipping a meal and waiting 20 minutes for the 1 train.  I had an amazing time as she topped my head with beautiful creations.  Her hats are gorgeous!  You all must go see them.  Not only is her store filled with exquisite hats, but it's over-flowing with great personality.

The Chapeau Must Go On

Anything immediately looks better when you put a hat on it.

Think Indy, fedora. Holly, black hat with sash. Jackie, pillbox. Marceau, beret. The cat, the hat.

No one understands that the heart is in the head, and the head is where the hat belongs better than Ellen herself. You could find her store online as I did, but it’s vastly more intoxicating to toe heel your way to her Chelsea store. She is a master of the quip as well as the brim. Fearful of what people will say if you wear that leopard-print fez? “Don’t give a feather what people think,” she advises. Fretting over where you can wear it? “Wear it everywhere,” she responds. I won’t steal her best lines; that’s for you to discover, along with a hat that defines your character. (She has toppered me four times now.)

Just go and be crowned. As Ellen would say: May your head carry on.

Ellen does it right!

If there is anyone who knows hats, it's definately Ellen! She offers a wonderful selection and she also does custom work. So if you've got a huge head or an "egg shape" like mine lol, Ellen will find or even make the hat that will fit your head perfectly.
