Next week Thrusday is truly going to be interesting. All the stores, boutiques, designers are in such a buzz anticipating Fashion's Night Out on September 10th. I'm particulalry excited about Omelle - new designer shoe label that I've been loving.

So, have you heard about Anna Wintour's pet project (not my words - Fashionologie describes it as that and I thought it was fitting) Fashion's Night Out? Ah, cha, cha! Well, why haven't you? You may have read my mention of it in my The September Issue post. Fashion's Night Out will be taking place on the first official night of NY Fashion Week ... all over the globe! Participating stores and boutiques will be opened until 11pm and do you know how much they want you to spend? $2500. Yeah, like I don't have that to spend and if I did I would need to pay my bills or the transportation for my wedding ... that takes place in a year. You feel me?

Okay, so you don't have to spend $2500. We can spend what we would normally spend regardless of the FNO experiment. But no fabulous prizes. Okay not true again. It depends on how much boutiques want to participate in this social experiment - some are announcing that there will be chocolate & champagne and the stuff we've come to expect. There will be pop up performances and droves of models all over the city. The intent is to get people to spend money during this recession and to help the fashion industry out. Like we would want to help those who are the cause of our bulimia and severe self consciousness. Okay, I might be in an angry mood. What is up with me?

Apparently, this star-studded video will be running in all the cabbies that night and they want you to get over to the Dior store and spend a minimum of $2500! ...Well, there are other promotions going on at our favorites affordable shops, you know - Uniqlo, Intermix, American Apparel. You could visit the website to see exactly what the promotion is at your fav boutiques.
