NYFW -- Day 5

NYFW -- Day 5

TUESDAY'S SHOWS TO NOTE: Betsey Johnson, Max Azria, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Tam.

Marc Jacobs nights are always insane. This year it was at the Park Avenue Armory and, as usual, droves of celebs. Approximate wait time - 20 minutes. It was, I think, one of his best seasons. I saw it as 1920s New York clashed with a mob of gypsies. His looks are pictured for this blog.

Vivienne Tam had a pretty peony theme which manifested itself best in silk or chiffon appliques on jackets, dresses and blouses. Lots of reds at this show. Pictured here is a really cool trio seated front row at Vivienne Tam.

I racked up on The Daily from the days I missed. The Daily is the official mag of the week. Large glossy, about 26 pages, with the celebrated person of the previous day on the cover--a model, designer, editor, PR, buyer, celeb. It gives you the skinny on everything that occurred worth noting the previous day. So, even if you were at the show or event du jour, you'll know what happened among all the partying, people, and flashing. Monday's cover girl was Aussie model, Abbey Lee. I'll put up a pic of this doll face model tomorrow. Tuesday's cover featured a look from Preen, none other than...a jumpsuit like the one I pictured on my blog from Day 4 but shorts. Francisco Costa was also on the cover because the night before Calvin Klein had what sounds like a fabulous anniversary party at the railway, the High Line, in NYC that we've heard chat about, for years now, opening to the public. It's on the west side along the river.

Other staples at the tents: Everything is free at the tents so there's an open bar that, in previous years, was sponsored by Lotus Lounge. Now that it is not so hot to be at Lotus, Charmbord is sponsoring the bar perhaps with Vibrant RiojaHavaianas, for the past few seasons now, has a booth where they give out free, custom-designed flip flops. Isn't that funny? Flip flops at the highest fashion profile event in NY of the year? Well there are lines of people waiting for their flip flops including me. I haven't picked up a pair for myself in two seasons but in previous years I have. I love Havaianas because they are sturdy (I still have a pair from years ago) and the rubber feels rich, lol if that's possible. They are great for hanging out at home or in the locker rooms at the gym. I do want to pick up another since they keep coming up with the cutest designs.

Full Frontal Fashion are usually taping at the tents. They are on NYCTV Time Warner, and Verizon Fios 25, Cablevision 22 and Ultra HD Cablevision 729. They broadcast all the shows with commentary. I believe the show "made" people like Finola Hughes, Robert Verdi, & Christina Ha (who's still working on being as well known as Finola and Robert). I tune in because I think they do the BEST job covering the shows on TV.

Then you have the MAC booth and Judith Ripka booth. The Witchcraft kiosk which has the best sandwiches hands down. Everyone raves about their lunches at the tents. You can check it out because they have a permanent booth at Bryant Park all year around.

While hanging out at the lounge in the tents, I thought I should bring you a few fashionistas that looked unique. See video here.

New celeb faces to fashion week since the last few years: Zoe Saldana (pictured here), Alan Cumming, Estelle.
